Come Let Us Reason Together - 271

FYI:

A Yoke is an old farming harness to join two work horses or oxen together to plow, to yoke unequally would be like joining together a work horse and a pony. When we teach this, young people think we are talking about an egg.

"When we left Adam MMIX and Zeva, they were newly married, now they have two kids and there are much more outside pressures in their marriage." But wait, when all seems lost, Zeva is out shopping with her friend Kristina, whom she has known for many years, and can't believe how much she's changed.

As a Result of Their Talk

Zeva gets filled with the Holy Spirit and has totally changed, (We'll have to fill you in later regarding the details!!). Now Kristina gives Zeva a little advice, and that is, "Its best not to tell your husband about what happened to you, let him ask, in my experience, I found out it works better." So Zeva comes home and Adam is there with the kids, he doesn't see anything different in Zeva, except she seems happier than she normally is, and he figures, she just had a good time and will be back to yelling at him soon enough.

Mark 10:8 - "And the two shall become one flesh; so they are no longer two, but one flesh."

The next day passes and Zeva still hasn't yelled at Adam MMIX, not even once. He can't believe what he's seeing - someone pinch him, he must be dreaming, what's happened???

Even though they are different in their minds and in their hearts, they are still one flesh!!! How is this going to turn out? Did you know that the story we are telling with these scriptures is a true accounting of a large number of married couples that we have met over the years, and how experimenting with the Bible, rather than supposed Christian psychology, has healed many. (psychology is a Greek word dealing with the mind, while God's word goes into the heart)

Now a week or two have passed and Zeva is still so peaceful and is so positive minded, Adam MMIX thinks she might be taking meds?? Zeva has started reading her Bible daily and comes across.

I Corinthians 7:7-16, especially verses 13 & 16 which say "But to the rest I say, not the Lord, that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he must not divorce her. And a woman who has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to live with her, she must not send her husband away. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband; for otherwise your children are unclean, but now they are holy. Yet if the unbelieving one leaves, let him leave, the brother or sister is not under bondage in such cases, but God has called you to peace. For how do you know, O wife whether you will save your husband? Or how do you know O husband, whether you will save your wife"

After reading this scripture several times, Zeva thinks to herself, Adam still seems pleased to dwell with me, and he doesn't bug me when I'm reading my Bible. And now he has started asking me questions about what I've been reading. You know that advice Kristina gave me about not coming across preachy really is working well. I'm going to really think about how this scripture works for me!
