(Prepositions)

In the Bible, prepositions are words that can show us our relationship with God. Prepositions are little, easy to understand, precise, exact, never changing, words that tell us where we stand.

With the above in mind, let's look at I Corinthians 8:6 to seek out answers to the following questions:
1.  Where we came from  -  Creation
2.  Where we stand now  -  Man's Fall
3.  Where we need to go  -  Salvation
4.  Where is the goal  -  Everlasting Life
I Cor. 8:6 (NASB): "Yet for us there is one God the Father, from whom are all things and we for Him and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things and we through Him."

(all the prepositions above are underlined and in
red)

Oh, did I mention that we need to go to the original Greek language, the one scientists and doctors use to see what is said exactly. So, lets look at this verse again with the correct 4 prepositions shown in Greek.

"Yet for us there is one God the Father, (ek - pronounced ek, like exit) out of whom are all things and we (eis -  pronounced eis) into Him, and one Lord Jesus Christ, (dia - pronounced di or dia) through whom are all things and we (di or dia) through Him.

Next we need to paint a picture of what those 3 prepositions are telling us about our relationships with God, (
dia is found twice).

1. "Yet for us there is one God the Father, out
      of
whom are all things ..."

We came out of our Father who gave birth to us. Genesis means birth. He created us in His image, after His likeness.

2.  "... and we into Him ..."

We have come out of our Father, and after man's fall, God has made a plan for us to come back into Him. "Come Home"

3.  "... and one Lord Jesus Christ through
      whom are all things...

Father God brought about all creation through His Son Jesus (John 1:3 & Colossians 1:15-16 back this up)

4.  "... and we through Him ..."

God the Father created us through Jesus' hands, then men fell. Now God wants us to return home, come back into Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

This whole idea of returning home to God the Father is found in all of the Bible. Jesus began His ministry by telling His disciples, "Come follow Me". Jesus also said that He was the door and that no one can come to the Father, but through Him.
